God and His people dialogue in response to Psalm 74, in which the people cry out for His presence amid threats from their enemies. Now, His people declare, “We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near.” The Lord answers by assuring them that He remains sovereign over the affairs of humanity. “It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.” Whether one chooses the path of righteousness or wickedness, God is the judge of all, who brings about justice in His perfect timing.
