For Solomon to be able to build the temple, Israel had to remain a strong nation, at peace with their neighbors, for young Solomon was not a military genius like his father David. So it was necessary to organize the army (vv. 1-15), the tribal leaders (vv. 16-24), the managers (vv. 25-31) and counselors (vv. 32-34) who served the king personally.
This careful organization of leaders and responsibilities reminds us that God values both order and faithfulness, calling us to serve diligently in the roles He appoints for each season of our lives.
