Arriving at Philippi, Paul and his companions joined a group of believers on the Sabbath near the river. “One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.” As God touched Lydia’s heart, her transformation became quickly evident as she and her household were baptized, and she warmly welcomed the missionaries into her home. Like Lydia, may we invite God to open our hearts to hear His Word, and may we warmly welcome others into our lives.
