Proverbs 6 gives practical wisdom about financial commitments, laziness, destructive behavior, dishonesty, and sexual temptation. It famously identifies seven things the Lord hates, including pride, lying, violence, wicked schemes, eagerness toward evil, false testimony, and stirring up conflict. The chapter concludes by again warning that adultery brings consequences that cannot simply be ignored.
God cares about the everyday choices that shape our character, from our work ethic to our words and relationships. Wisdom means recognizing that small compromises can eventually become major problems, so we should deal with unhealthy patterns while they are still small.
