Proverbs 10 begins a collection of short sayings contrasting the lives of the wise and foolish, righteous and wicked, diligent and lazy. Solomon repeatedly shows how our choices concerning work, money, integrity, speech, and relationships eventually produce consequences. The chapter emphasizes that righteousness produces stability and blessing while foolishness eventually brings trouble and regret.

Our lives are largely shaped by the small choices and habits we repeat every day. Wisdom means faithfully choosing what honors God even when the immediate consequences of those choices do not seem significant.
