Bildad responds by insisting that God is perfectly just and arguing that Job's children must have sinned to deserve their fate. He encourages Job to seek God, believing that if Job is truly righteous, God will quickly restore him. While Bildad correctly affirms God's justice, he wrongly assumes that every tragedy is the direct result of personal wrongdoing.

We should be careful not to confuse confidence with wisdom when speaking into another person's suffering. God's ways are often deeper and more mysterious than our simple explanations.
