A leper came to Jesus …saying, “If you are willing, You can make me clean.”  Early in His ministry, Jesus destroyed any doubt concerning His power, vs 32-35. But leprosy was not like other ailments that Jesus so willingly cured. Leprosy was considered stigmatized; it was seen as punishment for sin. Why then would Christ cure?

Guilt and sickness often become linked. But James 5:15, links them in the opposite way. The one who obediently comes to Christ for healing can, with the same faith, find forgiveness. Our faith and God’s grace are the foundational access to both.
