“I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely ... he will be called: ‘The Lord Our Righteous Savior’” (23:3-6). Judah’s leaders were deceiving people with false dreams. The “lying prophets” declared “messages from the Lord”, but their prophesies were “delusions of their own minds” (23:25). Instead of teaching truth, they “distorted” God’s Word. One day, God promised to send a truly righteous King whose word and rule would be trustworthy.

“They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart” (24:7). In place of false prophecies and self-help spirituality, our “Righteous Savior”, Jesus, opens the way to truly know God.
